How To Delete Temporary Files

temprory

Whether you like it or not, the hard disk of your PC are accumulating a lot of temporary files. Even now, at this very moment, I bet your system it is creating someone. Are you worried? You do not have, is a normal thing!

Temporary files are data that the operating system and applications create as a backup, for example, to be able to undo the changes made to a file, or as a "shortcut" for quick access to certain information. They include lists of most recently opened files (technically called MRU), backups of Windows updates, history and browser cache, thumbnails of photos and video, and the list could go on and on.

As mentioned earlier, the presence of this data on your computer is normal, however, in some cases it is advisable to delete temporary files to free up disk space or correct small malfunctions that may be encountered in everyday use of the PC (eg. The failure to display of thumbnail images in the Windows Resources or slowdowns browser). Let's see how you do.

How to delete temporary files on Windows

Let's start seeing how to delete temporary files on Windows. For this purpose you can use various tools but I shall consider only two: the Disk Cleanup utility included "standard" in all versions of the Microsoft operating system and the free CCleaner. Both are simple to use.

Disk Cleanup

To start the cleaning tool disk in Windows, look for it in the Start menu (or in the Start Screen) of your PC and click on its icon. Then select the types of files to delete and click the OK button first and then on Delete Files to start the process of deleting data.

Normally, the application to the disk cleanup removes data from the navigation of Internet Explorer, the temporary files related to Windows Error Reporting, previews of photos and videos in the Windows resources and temporary files of third-party applications parts (you can select each item with the mouse to find out in detail what it refers to).

To expand its operation and delete other system data, such as files not critical Windows Defender, you can click the button Clean up system files and wait for the software to restart from only showing you the updated list of files to remove .
